Adequate For the Job

This Kindle case is certainly adequate to house and protect a Kindle. The padding seems sufficient and the zipper works easily. However, it does not have a reading light included and is not very comfortable when reading from the Kindle. The neoprene smell is very strong. In my opinion it is as advertised, but did not quite meet my needs. If you plan to use this case solely for transporting your Kindle, or protecting when it is not in use, then this will do the job. Personally, I would recommend investing in another type of case. I ended up buying a different case for my needs.

Purshased for 2nd Gen, using with 3rd

I originally purchased the Belkin case to use with my 2nd gen Kindle. I was very pleased with its looks and the protection it gave for casual storage and travel with the caveat that it did not offer the best protection to the screen itself(the Belkin case is soft with nothing stiff in the lining to protect against a direct blow to the screen).

When I purchased the 3rd gen Kindle I also purchased the Kindle Leather Cover, Chocolate Brown (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle) thinking I would have no further use for my Belkin case. I was mistaken. The 3rd gen Kindle in the Amazon made Kindle cover fits perfectly inside the Belkin case. Now I have the best of both products. The Belkin is best at keeping my Kindle dust free and providing some shock absorption. The leather cover is best at protecting the screen and looking good. When paired I feel confident my Kindle is fully protected for casual use and the unforseen traumas of a back pack taken on the trail or off.

Case suffices to protect Kindle (and its screen) from scratches. Leather sides aid in carrying the case. Case does not open completely so that the Kindle can be viewed like a book - it is just a protection for the device. Unzip - pull out Kindle. Case construction is good, and it should last as long as the Kindle. Can't add much more - it is, afterall, just a zipper case.....

good carrying case

The case is great but I was under the impression that you could read with it when in reality you have to remove it from the case to use. Great for travel but I was looking for a case to enclose and protect it while I could still use it at the same time.
